IF Rating System
The IF RatingTM System was proposed by Monica Reinagel in 2005 as a method of predicting the inflammatory or anti-inflammatory effects of foods and combinations of foods, based on the nutritional composition of the foods. More about the IF RatingTM formula.
The IF Ratings were first published in 2006 in The Inflammation Free Diet Plan. The formula was revised in 2007 and the ratings are updated as new nutrient data becomes available.
Thousands of people have reported positive results using the IF Ratings to guide their diet choices and the IF Rating system is widely recommended by health professionals. In 2010, researchers at University of Sao Paolo reported results of a small pilot study, in which the IF Rating accurately predicted inflammatory responses in human subjects. A larger trial has been designed and is awaiting funding.
